Ethereum Towers Partner with ‘Oculus Approved’ VR Developer
As the Ethereum Towers project has evolved in its maturity and popularity, we have started to be able to select the people and teams that we would like to work with, rather than what our budget would allow. Our aim is to be at the forefront of technology and in doing so disrupt the current approach to Metaverse development for both developers and users alike.
We are excited to announce that Unity Developers will be our VR development partner; being in the top 3% of their field and coming with a wealth of experience we are proud to be joining an all-star roster of clients that they have worked with up until now. This includes global mega brands such as Amazon, Delta Airlines and ExxonMobil.
What do Unity Developers do?
Unity Developers are a World Class Unity development studio specializing in VR, AR and XR (mixed reality) games for mobile and console, and have completed over 125 successful projects. They are home to some of the most skilled 2D and 3D designers available anywhere in the market with 65 plus years of combined industry experience.
Impressively, they are an officially approved Oculus Software Vendor (ISV) which is an exclusive, closed program/directory of top studios that are selected only when they meet Oculus’ strict approval criteria. The highly coveted ISV status means that they will be some of the first in the world to receive system updates direct from Oculus and in turn understand the downstream impacts and working practices that these bring.
After extensive research and interviews, we concluded that they stood head and shoulders above their nearest competitor, which is why we had to take the opportunity to work with them.
What are Unity Developers doing for us?
Unity Developers are planning and building the prototype of Ethereum Towers which will be the centerpiece of the Ethereum Worlds Metaverse. This prototype will feature a small section of the Towers, most likely focusing on an apartment or residential floor. They will be exploring product integrations, server architecture, and briefly touching on the apartment customization engine code.
They will be working alongside our blockchain vendor and art studio to ensure that integration and interoperability are at the forefront of the design, providing a seamless and immersive experience for residents and visitors to our ecosystem.
‘We are pleased to secure such a prominent and experienced development partner for our Metaverse production. Greg, Kasia and the team have a wealth of knowledge and we are confident that they will deliver an incredible digital experience for our community’
- Brandon, Ethereum Towers, CPO
Approach Disruption
Unusually, but innovatively, we will work with Unity Developers to approach the design of our Metaverse experience with VR as a primary focus. This means there will be no VR porting or rebuilding later down the line. Alongside the VR application, Unity Developers will also develop a more accessible application, such as a browser-based (WebGL) or downloadable desktop application. Ethereum Towers is intended to be an immersive ‘home away from home’ experience, so it was important to us to start with our primary offering in VR from the offset.
‘As a part of the Metaverse structures growth, Unity Developers have partnered with Ethereum Towers to assist with ongoing development of a premier virtual community project. From our point of view, The Towers represent an exciting centerpiece attraction in a constantly evolving landscape that will become a home to thousands of Ethereum Worlds Metaverse users. As specialists in Unity software, we are a highly imaginative and creative team and are extremely excited to take part in building this premium virtual construct with Ethereum Towers’
- Greg Lukosek, Lead Developer, Co-Founder
Next Steps
Brandon (CPO) had the first kick off meeting with the Unity Developers Team this week and the next stage is to work closely with them to support the planning phase. Once complete, a tentative production roadmap will be created and split into agile sprints (short term milestones). Progress of each development phase will be shared with the Dev Team via Oculus Development VR in real time as it’s being built. This will help us to be hands-on in the design and decision making process as the development unfolds. We will share progress with our community in future Medium posts and Discord announcements.
